Baldur's Gate III has been in early access for quite some time and now, despite this, the game has steadily been getting more content added to it but more seems to be on the way. It has been confirmed by Larian Studio that plenty of exciting content is coming to the upcoming RPG, two extra races, a new class, and tons of new subclasses for the full version of Baldur’s Gate III.
The confirmation was made in a very recent Community Update, where Larian Studios showed off the current state of the game as well as gave us some information on all the things we can expect in the full release of the game. However, probably the most exciting piece of information shared on the Community Update was that players would not have to wait as long as they initially thought, as the release date for the PC version game has been moved up by over a month! But sadly, for PlayStation fans, they might have to wait a bit longer.
The Community Update also focused heavily on the game's character customization and all the options available in the game. While they are already impressive as is, Larian has confirmed that they will be adding two brand new races to the game. The two races that were teased were -s and the scaly Dragonborn. What this means is that players will be able to choose between all the races that were available in the original Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition Player’s Handbook.
As for current races, Dwarf characters will be able to choose the Duergar, which are the psionic residents of the region known as the Underdark. The Duergar can be chosen as a subrace option. Alongside the additional races, players will also be glad to know that the monk class will be making an appearance in Baldur's Gate III. This deadly warrior specializes in Haressing Kinand unarmed combat. However, it should be noted that the monk won't be an exact 1 to 1 with its Dungeon and Dragons counterpart, and the class has been adjusted to work within a video game setting.
The full release of Baldur's Gate III definitely seems like an eventful occasion, considering that upon release, the game will have over 37 feats, most of which will only be available in the full version, as well spell casting characters having an impressive 600 spells. This will definitely keep players busy for quite a while and we look forward to when the game releases in full. Baldur's Gate III will be releasing for PC on 3 August 2023 and PS5 on 6 September 2023.
