Taming a Megachelon in ARK: Survival Ascended Genesis is unusual because you cannot feed or knock it out. Instead, you must lure a Parakeet Fish School beneath the creature and defend it from hostile sea life. The process can be frustrating when the fish lose interest, but it becomes much easier once you understand how the interaction works.
Where to Find a Megachelon
Wild Megachelons and Parakeet Fish Schools can both be found throughout the Ocean Biome, particularly around the central area near the 52-latitude range. Search the surrounding water until you find a Megachelon at a suitable level.
Try to choose one swimming below the surface. Megachelons that remain too close to the top of the water may fail to interact with the fish school correctly.

What You Should Bring
A strong underwater mount, such as a Megalodon, will make the taming process much safer. Your mount should have enough Health and Damage to eliminate aggressive creatures without accidentally hitting the Megachelon.
As well, you should bring a crossbow or harpoon launcher to kill smaller enemies. Getting rid of any dangerous creatures in the area before starting the tame can help keep damage from happening later.
How to Lure a Parakeet Fish School
You should get close to a Parakeet Fish School until it starts to fight you. You should see a message letting you know that the swarm is aiming for you.
Begin swimming toward the Megachelon while remaining close enough to keep the fish interested. Do not travel too quickly because the school moves slowly and can easily lose aggro. Check behind you regularly and move back toward it whenever the targeting message disappears.

Guide the school toward the Megachelon’s head and underside. Once it reaches the correct position, the fish should attach themselves beneath the creature and begin the taming interaction.
Starting the Megachelon Tame
The taming bar will begin increasing after the Parakeet Fish School moves beneath the Megachelon. Stay nearby throughout the process, but avoid disturbing the interaction.
The tame may not begin if the Megachelon is too close to the water’s surface. In that situation, wait for it to swim downward or use a Rare Flower to gain its attention and lead it into deeper water. Once it reaches a suitable depth, lose its aggro and bring the fish school underneath it again.

Protecting the Megachelon
Hostile creatures will appear while the Megachelon is being tamed. Sabertooth Salmon may spawn and swim directly toward it, while existing predators in the area can also interrupt the process.
Kill every attacking creature quickly, but be careful not to damage the Megachelon. Damage can reduce the effectiveness of the tame or cause the tame to fail.
Open-Water and Trap Methods
You can tame the Megachelon in open water or by setting up a big trap around it. Megachelons are big and can be hard to contain, but a trap keeps them in one place and makes it easier to defend against them.
For open-water taming to work, less work needs to be done ahead of time, and the area around the water should already be clear. Keep your distance from the Megachelon, watch how it moves, and keep protecting it until the taming bar hits 100%.
