Weapons being such a fundamental part of the core gameplay loop in Borderlands 4, it's important that you get your hands on legendary weapons.
This guide will explain everything that you need to know about Maurice's Black Market Vending Machine.
The vending machine tends to be difficult to find due to it only summoning up until you approach it. When found, it'll offer you various legendary items and stats plentiful for you to choose from.
You'll only be able to make a single purchase before the machine locks out for around half an hour; after which you'll be able to buy different items with different rolls.

To gain access to the machine, you must have completed the main campaign; after which, starting the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will introduce a mission that will act as a tutorial for the machine. When you're done using it, the machine moves somewhere else, and you'll need to look for it.
Finding the Black Market machine is not the easiest, especially when you take into account how big the world of Borderlands 4 is – your chances of running into one are slim to say the least.
Its intended design is to increase collaboration amongst the community, where people can share the location of the machine so that everyone can benefit.

For its current weekly rotation (as of the second week for September 2025), you'll be able to find it in the Ripper Settlement in Plungeford in the Fade Fields' coastal Bonescrape area, close to where the game started. It's in an area high up on a platform that overlooks the zone.
To get to it, you'll need to jump across from a ridge and climb up on top of the platform, and then look carefully for an outline.
The machine allows two legendary gear options each time you visit, with different rolls each. When you do decide to purchase, you'll be locked out for more than half an hour. You'll be allowed to return later for another purchase for a refreshed stat.
It's a steady and fun way to collect legendary weapons; unlike with random boss drops, you're almost guaranteed good loot.
