A quick guide on how to unlock fast travel in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The Grasslands is the first open-world location you'll encounter in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. It is the primary backdrop for the second chapter, A New Journey Begins. You won't have access to fast travel immediately, but you should be able to unlock it quickly enough—assuming you don't get sidetracked by all the fun side quests—in the game.

The Key to Unlocking Quick Travel

Once you reach Chocobo Bill's Ranch and recapture Piko, the escaped Chocobo, you will be able to access quick travel. Once you've done that, you'll have to talk to Billy and then sprint around the ranch's perimeter. After you finish, quick travel will be activated. During this time, you'll also be able to access certain side missions and odd jobs in The Grasslands. Visiting Chloe at the ranch will activate the first one, Flowers from the Hill.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's fast travel system requires you to access the map and choose an unlocked waypoint in order to activate. Places like activated Remnawave towers, towns and settlements, and other finished world intelligence sites fall into this category. Once the Chocobo in a region is captured, you can go to Chocobo Stops.

However, before you can get there, you have to locate and fix the stops. To do this, stand near a broken sign while holding the Triangle button. As with any other fast travel spot in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, once you've done that, you'll be able to teleport to repaired Chocobo Stops.
