Gothic 1 Remake Guide | How to Get the Best Early Sword for Free

To start your Journey, you need to go to the Old Camp to begin Leveling Up and get the Best Early Sword for Free. Follow these steps to get the Whistler, a powerful Sword, early on as you traverse this area and prepare for upcoming Challenges.

Retrieving the Starter Weapon

First, walk past the Guards and create a permanent Save File right in front of Thoros. He is the NPC guarding the path to the Inner Circle. Do not interact with him yet. Instead, look to the right side of the road for a path to a Sword with 20 Damage. 

Follow that path until you find a Shack with Whistler sitting inside. Speak with him and agree to help him get his Sword back from Fisk. He will give you 100 Ore for this Quest in Gothic 1 Remake.

Completing the Trade with Fisk

Keep traveling down the road until you find Fisk sitting on a Bench to your left. Ask him about the Sword, but do not select any other Dialogue Options during the conversation. Tell him you will return later. Return to Whistler and explain that the Price is higher than he anticipated. 

He will provide the 10 Ore you still need to pay. Go back to Fisk and finalize the Purchase. This Sword provides a significant Damage Boost and requires 17 Strength to equip, which you will achieve shortly. 

Note the location of Fisk as a regular Vendor for selling your Excess Items, but ensure you keep 15 Ore on hand for the Mount in Gothic 1 Remake.
