Gothic 1 Remake Guide | How to Find Hellcap Mushrooms

The Gothic 1 Remake has many types of plants that you can pick up for Crafting and Survival. One of the key items you need to look for early on is the Hellcap mushroom. This Alchemical Ingredient grows in specific damp areas just outside the starting walls.

Leaving the Old Camp

Open your Map of the Old Camp and locate the back exit. This is the second gate that sits directly opposite the Main Entrance. Walk out through this back gate and head straight toward the base of the nearby Hills.

Clearing the Enemies

Before you can start picking the Plants, you have to deal with the local wildlife. The rocky area near the hills is a nesting ground for Molerats in Gothic 1 Remake.

You need to have your weapon ready for Combat as soon as you approach. Draw your blade and defeat the three Molerats guarding the path so you can explore without getting attacked.

Finding the Hellcap Mushrooms

Once the area is clear, walk over to the base of the mountain and search roughly around the rocky walls.

Check carefully along the edges of the stone cliffs to spot the first few Hellcap patches growing on the ground. There are plenty of these Mushrooms scattered along the rock faces if you keep your eyes open in Gothic 1 Remake.

After you clear the outside edges, head inside the small Cave nearby where the monsters were sleeping. Put away your weapon and step inside to find even more Hellcap items growing in the dark, along with a few other useful Crafting Ingredients.
