The Gothic 1 Remake has a powerful endgame Weapon that you can get early in your Playthrough if you know who to fight. One of the best Melee Weapons for the start of the game is Scar's Sword.
This weapon lets you beat tough enemies way before the story says you have to. This Early Game Guide shows you how to find the weapon, its Stat Requirements, and the best Character Build to get the most damage out of it.

Get Scar's Sword
You have to get this weapon directly from an NPC Trainer named Scar. He lives inside the Castle in the middle of the Old Camp.
He works as the bodyguard for Gomez. If you fight Scar and beat him, you can take his high-tier Armament. You also get other valuable Gear and items that belong to him and Gomez in Gothic 1 Remake.
Weapon Stats and Requirements
Scar's Sword is a top choice for the start of the game, especially if you grab it during Chapter 2. It deals 85 Edge Damage.
This lets you cut through tough monsters and armored enemies easily. To use this weapon, you need a dedicated Strength Build. You must hit a Strength Requirement of 70 before you can even put it on.

Recommended Strength Build
To get 70 strength early, spend your Learning Points on raw power when you level up. You can also raise your stats fast by finding specific Items in the world. For example, wearing a Ring of Power gives you a big boost to your stats.
This makes it easier to hit the 70 strength mark quickly, or you can push to 95 strength for even bigger weapons in Gothic 1 Remake.
For your Progression Strategy, save your Learning Points and put them into your stats first. Do not worry about leveling up your weapon skills until you have enough strength to hold the blade.
A great setup for later is a hybrid Strength and Fire Magic Build. This lets you mix heavy physical hits with magic spells.

Combat Handling and Performance
Your One-Handed Fighting skill might only be at level two, but Scar's Sword is strong enough to carry you through bad areas anyway. The 85 Edge Damage makes basic hits very deadly.
When you use a controller, your Combat Options are basic light hits, a stab, and a downward slash.
This simple set of moves lets you go deep into late-game areas like Orc Territory right at the start. The weapon is strong enough to kill grunts quickly. This lets you steal heavy drops like the Krush Pach weapon, which needs 42 strength and deals 50 damage.
You will be fighting enemies that are a higher level than you, so keep a lot of Healing Items ready to use. One mistake in these areas can kill you fast, but the high damage of the blade lets you drain enemy health bars before they can hit you back in Gothic 1 Remake.
