Whenever you level up in Gothic 1 Remake, you gain Learning Points. You can spend these points to upgrade your stats or learn new talents. In order to learn them you have to find a trainer NPC who is willing to teach you.

Free Training with Diego

You can find your first trainer right by the main gate in Old Camp. Training with Diego is a great way to boost your Strength or Dexterity and hit harder or move faster in Gothic 1 Remake.

What makes training with Diego so good is that his lessons only cost Learning Points and don't require any Ore or money. Select the stat you want to upgrade, confirm the point cost, and your attribute will go up immediately.

Paid Lessons with Fingers

Other trainers in the area specialize in different rogue talents but they will expect payment. Walk around the corner from the main path to find Fingers. Speak with him to see what skills he offers, such as Pickpocket in Gothic 1 Remake.

When you look at his menu, you will see that his lessons require both Learning Points and cash. Save him for later when you have the money to pay him for his expert thieving skills.
