Metaphor: ReFantazio | Follower Guide – Bardon

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out, and it's amazing the game inherits or otherwise builds on many mechanics from Persona and SMT. One such mechanic is the companion system, or as the game calls it, Followers. Followers are your natural companions, who you fight and spend time with, and who let you give some benefits for doing so. In this guide, you will get an overview of Elphas Bardon.

You meet Bardon after reaching Port Brilehaven. To start his story, you need to complete the quest ‘Apprehend the real Kidnapper. ' If you meet him in your free time in Martira, he will give you a side-quest, and this will be your main tool for progressing his ranks.

Bardon Rank Progression

• Rank 1: Meet him for the first time.

• Rank 2: After you travel to Brilhaven. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • You’re popular.
  •  Everything’s a challenge.

• Rank 3: Respond with the following when prompted .
  • I support you
  • The job suits you.
  • You can protect them now.

• Rank 4: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • I see you in a whole new light.
  • That’s a good idea.
  • That’s reassuring.

• Rank 5: Requires eloquence level 3. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • Stay calm
  • I’m leaning towards yes.
  • Let’s think of another strategy.

• Rank 6: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • The children are scared.
  • Of course.

• Rank 7: Complete the ‘Right to Rule’ quest. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • You’re not causing trouble at all.
  • Let’s go tell them.
  • Leave things to me.

• Rank 8: Once you have the Prince Archetype unlocked. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • That’s terrible.
  • Have faith in yourself.
  • You’re still a kind person
  • There is no one more qualified.

Bardon Rank Rewards

• Rank 1: You now have access to the Commander.
• Rank 2: Reduces the MAG cost of studying the Commander.
• Rank 3: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Commander to 2, and you now have access to the General.
• Rank 4: Improves defense when the party is in the back row. Brandon will occasionally send a parcel at the end of the day.
• Rank 5: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Commander to 3. The odds of escaping from Squad Battle are increased.
• Rank 6: Significantly reduces MAG cost for studying the Commander. Halves the turn icon cost for switching a reserve member during Squad Battle.
• Rank 7: Escape will almost always succeed during Squad Battles.
• Rank 8: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Commanders to 4. You now have access to the Warlord.
