Metaphor: ReFantazio | Follower Guide – Alonzo

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out, and it's amazing the game inherits or otherwise builds on many mechanics from Persona and SMT. One such mechanic is the companion system, or as the game calls it, Followers. Followers are your natural companions, who you fight and spend time with, and who let you give some benefits for doing so. In this guide, you will get an overview of Alonzo Crotalus.

A noble-hearted trickster who uses his skills upon the wicked. Alonzo offers the quest ‘A Dagger, a Ring and a Rake’ in Martira under the name ‘Cuculus.’ You need to have Imagination level 2 to accept the quest.

Alonzo Rank Progression

• Rank 1: Complete the ‘A Dagger, a Ring and a Rake’ quest.
• Rank 2: You need to have Wisdom level 3 and travel to Brilhaven. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • To threaten them?
  • What do you mean?
  • Interesting plan there.
  • Okay.
• Rank 3: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • She sounds kind.
  • We’ll save your village.
• Rank 4: Requires Tolerance to be level 3. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • I won’t kick you while you’re down.
• Rank 5: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • Of course.
  • Leave it to me.
• Rank 6: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • From yourself
  • Our bet, you mean?
• Rank 7: Requires courage to be level 5. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • Please stop this…
• Rank 8: Your responses affect nothing here; this will happen naturally.

Alonzo Rank Rewards

• Rank 1: You have access to the Faker.
• Rank 2: Reduces the MAG cost of studying the Faker.
• Rank 3: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Faker to 2.
• Rank 4: The prices at Magic Shops are reduced in all cities. Requests also have increased rewards. 
• Rank 5: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Faker to 3.
• Rank 6: Significantly reduces MAG cost for studying the Faker.
• Rank 7: You are allowed to purchase rare items at Magic Shops. Alonzo can analyze data for most enemies.
• Rank 8: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Faker to 4. You now have access to the Trickster.
