Metaphor: ReFantazio | Follower Guide – Basilio

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out, and it's amazing the game inherits or otherwise builds on many mechanics from Persona and SMT. One such mechanic is the companion system, or as the game calls it, Followers. Followers are your natural companions, who you fight and spend time with, and who let you give some benefits for doing so. In this guide, you will get an overview of Basilio Magnus.

Basilio is a defector who seeks a new purpose. He is the final follower you unlock in the main story. When you present your relic in Altabury, you can talk to him while in the gauntlet runner to start his story.

Basilio Rank Progression

• Rank 1: Speak to him in the Gauntlet Runner.
• Rank 2: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • I look forward to it.
• Rank 3: While in the gauntlet runner, respond with the following when prompted –
  • More, please!
  • That must be rough.
  • Let’s visit him again.
• Rank 4: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • It’s very like you.
• Rank 5: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • You’d help him kill?
• Rank 6: You need to have Imagination level 5. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • Let’s ambush him.
  • Keep your head high.
  • Obviously.

• Rank 7: R with the following when prompted –
  • You should be the boss!
  • You’d kill your family?!
• Rank 8: You need Eloquence level 5 and ‘A Brother’s Mercy’ completed. Respond with the following when prompted –

  • You’ve come a long way.

Basilio Rank Rewards

• Rank 1: You have access to the Berserker.
• Rank 2: Reduces the MAG cost of studying the Berserker. Increases evasion when attacked by a beast or human monster.
• Rank 3: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Berserker to 2 and increases the amount of experience he gains when in reserve.
• Rank 4: Significantly reduces MAG cost for studying Berserker. 
• Rank 5: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Berserker to 3.
• Rank 6: You have access to the Destroyer.
• Rank 7: Makes Basilio gain experience at the normal rate when she is in reserve.
• Rank 8: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Berserkers to 4. Significantly increases evasion when attacked by a beast or human monster. He also gains the ability to study their unique Royal Archetype once they become available.
