Metaphor: ReFantazio is out, and it's amazing the game inherits or otherwise builds on many mechanics from Persona and SMT. One such mechanic is the companion system, or as the game calls it, Followers. Followers are your natural companions, who you fight and spend time with, and who let you give some benefits for doing so. In this guide, you will get an overview of Maria.

Grius’ daughter was first found in Gran Trad, inside the Hushed Honeybee Inn. To increase her rank, you need to get her pictures from your journey.

Maria Rank Progression

• Rank 1: Automatically progressed on 06/10
• Rank 2: Your Tolerance needs to be level 2; you also need the Tree of Prophecy picture. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • You’re not weird.
  • I wouldn’t break a promise.
  • A bad person did it.
  • We’ll talk again.
• Rank 3: Obtain Midnight Sunsands picture from Neuras. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • Let’s go there too.
  • You’re not wrong, Maria.
  • You have me.
  • Show her you care.
• Rank 4: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • He did it for both of you.
• Rank 5: et the City Ruins picture from Neuras. Respond with the following when prompted –
  • Your Papa must be happy
  • You can do other things.
  • It’s the whole family.
  • Leave it to me.
• Rank 6: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • I think he’ll do a good job
  • Mission Complete.
  • You did a great job.
• Rank 7: Tolerance level needs to be 4. You also need to get the Peregrine Falls picture from Neuras. Then, respond with the following when prompted –
  • Good job.
  • How can I help?
• Rank 8: Respond with the following when prompted –
  • I want to help
  • That’s great
  • You have a lot of friends.
  • I promise.

Maria Rank Rewards

• Rank 1: You have access to the Healer.
• Rank 2: Reduces the MAG cost of studying the Healer.
• Rank 3: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Healer to 2. You now have access to the Cleric.
• Rank 4:  Increases the EXP gained after the battle. Freezes time when cooking in the Gauntlet Runner’s kitchen.
• Rank 5: Significantly reduces MAG cost for studying Healer.
• Rank 6: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Healer to 3.
• Rank 7: Significantly increases the EXP gained after the battle. Makes an additional dish when cooking in the gauntlet runner’s kitchen.
• Rank 8: Increases the skill inheritance slot for Berserkers to 4. You now have access to the Saviour.
