Remnant II - The Dark Horizon | How to Unlock the Warden Archetype

Remnant 2 Dark Horizon DLC introduced the brand-new Warden archetype. You can get it pretty early on in the game, though it can be a little tricky to get if you don’t know what you’re doing.

The best way to start is from Waylaid Conservatory, though it can be tricky to reach if you're just beginning the DLC. If you’re confused, you can start from the Quiescent Overlook.

Talk to an NPC in Quiescent Overlook

From the Quiescent Overlook, pick up an item from the robot, then continue up the hill. You’ll encounter an NPC you need to speak with to get a glider. After that, take the glider and fly across to the next glider.

Use the Glider

After landing, head through the giant gap in the cliff and turn to the right. You’ll see an air vent that will carry you upward. Once you reach the top, glide across to a pool of water below. In the middle of the pool, there’s another air vent that will take you to the other side. Keep following this path until you reach the next checkpoint.

More Gliders

At the checkpoint, run to the right and immediately turn left. Follow the high path; if you keep heading straight, you’ll spot another glider ahead. Once you grab it, glide straight across to the opposite end and land. After landing, turn right; there’s a checkpoint on your left that you can grab first.

Even More Gliders

From the checkpoint, head into the open area and look for the big orb in the sky. Run generally to its direction while keeping a little to the right, and you should find the next glider eventually. Take this glider and glide to your left. You will need a boost from a nearby updraft to your left in order to reach it. Glide across and continue following the pathway.

Defeat Enemies and Finding the Elevator to Withered Necropolis

After landing, run up the pathway, turn left, and defeat the enemies in your way. You’ll come across a yellow gate to the left—go through it. In the next room, progress toward the elevator at the other end and interact with it. This will bring you to the Withered Necropolis checkpoint.

Find a Secret Room

From the Withered Necropolis checkpoint, run straight across to the glider right before you. You’ll see another NPC to talk to, but for now, take the glider. As you hover, move left and right to fall a little faster, then go straight through the gap in the wall or cliff. If you don’t hover, you might bump into the cliff in your way.

Grab the air vent and turn right. There will be another air vent ahead. Take this all the way up, then head toward the next air vent you see, which leads into a little opening in the cliffside lit up with a lamp.

Get the Weathered Mechanism

Fly into the secret room, turn left, and head down the hallway. This leads you to a bridge with an enemy. Defeat the enemy and continue crossing the bridge into a small cave. Follow the pathway until you see a glowing item ahead—that’s the Weathered Mechanism. Pick it up, then jump down from the closest opening to the checkpoint.

Craft Command Module Engram

Now, return to Ward 13 and head to the docks. Look for the building with the big crane system above the docks. Once inside, speak with Wallace, who is sitting in a chair. You’ll have the option to craft the Command Module Engram using the Weathered Mechanism. Doing this will unlock the Warden Archetype.
