A safe place to store your loot is a significant part of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. You'll need to complete a Quest to get a chest to store all of your items safely without worrying about them despawning or running out of inventory while looting enemies.

Start "Zero Visibility" Quest

The first thing you must do in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered after getting out of the Imperial Prison Sewer is travel northwest over the lake to a small town called Aleswell. Go into Aleswell and find the Aleswell Inn. Go inside, and this will start the Zero Visibility quest.

After talking to villagers at the inn, leave and go down the hill to Fort Caractacus. When approaching, listen and watch for a hidden NPC called Ancotar. He is hard to find, so listen and be attentive as you get closer to the fort.

Talk to Ancotar a few times. Eventually, he will have a conversation where you can get a spell scroll. This scroll is used to reverse the invisibility issue affecting the town in the area. If your disposition with him is high enough, he will reward you with a Ring of Protection.

To increase your disposition with Ancotar, you must play the persuade minigame. Bribery is usually the fastest and most effective way of doing this in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

After getting Ancotar's Ring of Protection and Reverse Invisibility Scroll, go to the middle of Aleswell, which is pointed out by the quest marker. From your inventory, equip the ring and the scroll. Once you have equipped them, cast the spell.

This will end the quest. If you do not wear the ring and cast the spell, your Luck attribute will be damaged. Luckily, this can be undone by praying at any Shrine, available in Chapels in most big cities.

Permanent Storage Location

Once you've solved the invisibility problem of the town, go back to the Aleswell Inn in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. Diram will reward you for your assistance by offering you a permanent room in his inn. The room is upstairs, and the first door is on the left. It contains a simple but safe bed and storage spaces, such as a chest or drawers.

Anything you keep in this storage area will be secure and will not despawn, regardless of how long you leave it there. This makes it one of the most convenient early-game safehouses for storing equipment.

By completing this quick and straightforward quest, you are helping a hidden town return to its normal state and have a safe place to hide your loot and sleep in peace.
