While setting up early supply chains, you may notice that your network depends on direct connections to the Trading Post. Warehouses remove this limitation by acting as shared distribution points.

All goods stored in Warehouses on the same island are shared, so they do not need to be directly connected. You can use Warehouses to form hubs and organize supply chains around them, rather than routing everything through the city center.

Creating Industrial Hubs

In this setup, production buildings such as farms connect to a Warehouse, forming an industrial hub. You should relocate supply chains outside the city center when they meet specified criteria in Anno 117: Pax Romana.

Buildings such as the Charcoal Burner impose adverse effects on nearby structures. Farms, Woodcutters, and similar buildings require large amounts of space or rely on natural resources such as trees and open fields.

In Anno 117: Pax Romana, some resources can only be placed in certain spots on the island because they need a Mountain or River slot.

Transport Capacity Issues

If an hourglass icon appears above a Warehouse, nearby buildings are submitting more transport requests than carriers can accommodate.

You can resolve this by constructing a new warehouse or upgrading the existing one, provided the required technology is available in Anno 117: Pax Romana.

Warehouse Upgrades

Upgrading a Warehouse increases transport capacity. The first upgrade costs 250 Denarii, 25 Timber, and 5 Tiles, and requires Warehouse Organization. The second upgrade costs 500 Denarii, 50 Timber, 15 Tiles, and 5 Concrete, and requires Warehouse Refinement.
