In Anno 117: Pax Romana, supply chains control how you build, expand, and maintain your empire. You depend on them to meet citizen needs, increase population, and keep your settlements running during conflict.

Understanding Supply Chains
Supply chains determine how raw materials are sourced and transformed into finished goods. In the early stages, these chains are simple and typically consist of a single raw resource linked to a single processing building.
As your empire grows, supply chains require more planning and coordination across several buildings, islands, and regions in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
A single raw resource can supply multiple processing buildings simultaneously, making placement and balancing important. As expansion continues, you need to transport goods between cities because each island has different fertilities.

Some items can only be made in Latium or Albion. This indicates that late-game supply lines operate across provinces rather than within a single city.
Setting Up First Supply Chains
You typically start with Timber output because many early buildings require it. To begin, put a Woodcutter in a place with a lot of trees. It requires at least 80 trees within its operational radius to achieve full output.
Then, put a sawmill close by and build roads to connect both buildings to your trading post in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
All buildings in a supply chain must be connected, either directly via roads or indirectly via structures such as a Warehouse, which is relevant later. The green road highlight shows the maximum distance at which buildings can remain connected.

Early Food Production
Another early supply chain in Latium is Porridge production. This chain begins with an Oat Farm, which requires surrounding open space for fields. Different farms require different amounts of space, so you should place them near the edges of housing districts to preserve building room.
Once the Oat Farm is active, connect it to a Porridge Stand. This building processes Oats into Porridge, which supplies your citizens. The Porridge Stand can also serve as a connection point, enabling you to link the farm to the Trading Post while maintaining the supply chain in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
