ARK Survival Ascended Guide Black Pearl Location and Farming (Genesis Ascended Part 1)

Black Pearls are essential for crafting advanced Tek equipment in ARK: Genesis Ascended Part 1. On the Genesis map, one cave in the Volcanic Biome contains an enormous supply of them. Once you know the entrance and how to reach the lava chambers, you can collect hundreds or even thousands of Black Pearls without hunting sea creatures.

Prepare for the Volcanic Cave

Use HLN-A Biome Teleportation and travel to the Volcanic Biome. The eastern spawn is a useful starting point because it places you closer to the upper section of the mountain.

Bring a strong combat tame, such as a Rex, to deal with the creatures inside. You can also travel with a Shotgun, Parachutes, and Grappling Hooks if you prefer to avoid most fights. A Tek Suit makes the route much easier because it allows you to fly between the different chambers.

Be alert for volcanic eruptions. When an eruption begins, leave the mountain quickly because remaining inside can result in instant death.

Find the Black Pearl Cave Entrance

Travel to approximately 23.9 Latitude and 86.3 Longitude. The entrance is near the top of the volcanic mountain. Look for small purple crystals around the opening, as they mark several entrances leading into the cave system.

Enter the cave and continue following any path that leads downward. The deeper sections contain the largest Black Pearl deposits. To leave later, simply follow the paths that climb uphill.

Deal With the Cave Creatures

The cave contains several dangerous enemies. Magmasaurs are the main threat, while Rock Elementals may also appear around the passages and lava chambers.

You can clear the way with your combat tame or carefully move between ledges with grappling hooks and parachutes. Don't carry extra stuff with you because Black Pearls are heavy when you collect a lot of them.

Collect the First Black Pearl Nodes

Before reaching the lowest lava floor, you will pass a small area containing several Black Pearl nodes. These appear as loose groups of dark pearls scattered across the ground.

You can collect them by hand, but a Whip is faster because it gathers multiple nearby items at once. This smaller section is useful when you only need a limited number of Black Pearls.

Farm the Lava Chambers

Continue travelling downward until you reach the large lava-filled section at the bottom of the mountain. Black Pearls are spread throughout this entire area.

The lower cave contains three main chambers. Search both sides of the lava and explore the smaller connecting section to find additional deposits. With a Tek Suit, you can fly between the nodes while avoiding most enemies.

The same area also contains Element Nodes, Obsidian, and Magmasaur Eggs, making it one of the most valuable resource locations on Genesis. After clearing the available deposits, follow the nearest uphill passage until you reach one of the mountain’s exits.
