Sulfur is more difficult to obtain since you require Iron Pickaxe to mine it. The Foothills only have Iron Ore and you cannot enter the area until you complete the Coastal Jungle. When you have a tool of iron then you will find Sulfur nodes in the jungle. The amount of Ash and Sulfur you need to make your ammunition is 25 Ash and 25 Sulfur at the Millstones.

Play with Ammo and Farming Tips

Picking up Gunpowder places it in your Ammo slot, next to your bullets. You also need to enable the auto-refill option so that your Pistol or Blunderbuss will automatically refill up when you are in a fight. When you have no more bullets, you may go to the beach and get Pearls in place of bullets.

The optimal route to take as a new player is to clear all the points of interest on the starting island and then concentrate on the Blackbeard Pirate Camps.
