Pokémon Generation 10 Beta Screenshots Leak Showing Major Visual Upgrade
Early development images hint at improved textures, underwater exploration, and diverse biomes for the next mainline RPG.

More leaks have hurt both Game Freak and The Pokémon Company. The leaks this time are about old games and the brand's future. There is a big new story saying Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen might be coming back to Nintendo Switch. The Pokémon 30th anniversary party on February 27 could be the place to hear this.
New pictures from the Generation 10 test have also been put online at the same time. These pictures give you a sneak peek at what might be the most impressive visual upgrade in the series' history. The news that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen will be re-released as Nintendo Switch ports is now backed up by more than one source.

Each game will be sold separately.
You won't be able to get them as part of Nintendo Switch Online. But there is still no clear information on when or how much it will cost. The ports are said to work with Pokémon Home. One of the best things about it is that it can be taken anywhere. This lets players catch the first 151 Pokémon and use them in newer games.
Long-time fans will find this news both exciting and hard to understand. Many people who pay for NSO have been wondering when older Pokémon games will be added to the library. On the other hand, Game Freak has always preferred remasters and re-releases to paid access. As the word "ports" suggests, these wouldn't be full remakes or big remasters.
Instead, they sound like they'll be true Game Boy Advance versions that might run better. But we shouldn't get our hopes up until the official show. There may be improvements such as higher resolution, changes to the widescreen mode, or minor interface tweaks. How people react as a whole will probably depend on how the prices are set.
If you sell these books independently for a high price, fans might not like it. People might be more open to them, though, if they were sold together at a fair price and had a real media release. It's possible that collectors would love to have a real copy. You might wish that FireRed and LeafGreen were always available in print, rather than having to pay for a membership service.
It's fun to play again and again, and the Pokémon Home link makes it more useful now.
One cool thing about later games is that you can bring Pokémon you caught back to Kanto. This lets people of different generations play together. If you connect these ports to that kind of hub, they might become useful again. If they are done right, they might not feel like re-releases but like living parts of the land.
People are just as excited about Generation 10 news as they are about the FireRed and LeafGreen celebration talk. People familiar with the matter say the next big Pokémon RPG might feature graphics much better than those in the most recent games. Now, screenshots from 2024 development builds that leaked are being widely shared.

These screenshots give people an early look at the environments, water models, and other details. Even though these shots are said to be from early builds, the rocks, plants, and terrain already have more detail than what we saw in earlier stages of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Keep in mind that test builds sometimes don't look as good as full versions.
You can see how much the looks of Scarlet and Violet have changed in just two years by comparing early builds to finished work. If Generation 10 really does come out in late 2026, there is still plenty of time to improve the lighting, graphics, and the game's speed. Still, what I'm seeing now makes me think Game Freak might be giving outdoor details more attention, which fans have been asking for for a long time.
One very interesting thing about the secret pictures is that they might show worlds under the water.
It has been said that players may be able to get deeper into the game this time. A lot more ways to make and explore places could be added if moving underwater becomes a big part of the game. When players have been in areas with only one theme for a long time, they often want more variety and difference. A fully realized underwater ecosystem would do just that.
Early pictures show a variety of biomes, from places with lots of plants to places that look like they might be frozen or deserts. That change needs to be seen. Adding different types of terrain to a Pokémon adventure, like water, snow, jungle, and open fields, makes the game more interesting and gives you a reason to explore. Having many options can be very helpful.
Some pictures that people share don't look good. Many cityscapes look unfinished since the backgrounds are flat and there aren't many features. But that's how early builds often are. It's not important that the game looks good; what matters is that it seems to be trying to do more than it did before. If this base is built on, fans may finally see the "visual leap" that has been talked about for years.

It looks like you might also be interested in natural diversity.
Reports from sources say that Generation 10 could be shown off at the next Pokémon Day event. It might be a big Christmas release for Nintendo's next line of hardware. If that turns out to be true, a lot will be at stake. If a big Pokémon game came out at the same time as new gear, it would need to look great and work well in real life. We might soon find out if these rumors are true.
As the show on February 27 approaches, people are growing increasingly excited. The series could take a big turn at the 30th anniversary party, with classic Kanto ports possible and a brave new generation pushing the edges of what can be seen. If you want to see old Pokémon or new ideas for the future, it's clear that Pokémon is entering a big phase.
The talk is still going strong while we wait for proof from the government. You could be deciding whether single classic ports are better than paid access, or you could be checking whether Generation 10 really looks like it will be a good thing. No matter what, the next Pokémon show might make people think differently about the past and the future of the show.
