Alone in the Dark Guide | Gallery Clock Puzzle

In Chapter 2 of Alone in the Dark, you have to solve a clock puzzle, which can be very challenging. However, in order to solve this puzzle, you have to find two extra plates scattered about Derceto in this chapter. This guide will show you how to solve the Gallery Clock Puzzle.

Locating the Astronomical Clock

The Astronomical Clock is located in the Gallery on Derceto Manor's second level. To get there, ascend the main staircase from the entrance hall; the clock is clearly displayed between two statues. 

Gathering Missing Plate Pieces

When you examine the clock, you'll see that two plate pieces are missing, which are required for the puzzle. Here's how to locate them:

First Plate Piece (Garden Well)

• Accessing the Garden: From the first floor, go to the Small Parlor and get the Bolt Cutters. Use these to unlock the locked door that leads to the Kitchen Garden.
•  Retrieve the Plate Piece: In the garden's corner, there is a well with a bucket at its bottom. To raise the bucket, go into the adjoining shed (open it with the Bolt Cutters) and discover a hose.
• Attach this hose to the existing one leading to the well. Turn on the faucet to fill the well, bringing the bucket and the plate piece into reach.

Solve the Astronomical Clock Puzzle

Return to the Astronomical Clock while holding both plate pieces.

Restoring the Plate: Replace the missing parts on the clock's plate. Align the gold lines and symbols to create a coherent design. Pay particular attention to the outermost circle, ensuring that all icons are properly aligned.

Deciphering the Clock Face: After recovering the plate, look at the clock face above. You will see three concentric circles, each with a hand pointing to a number. 

From the largest to the smallest circle, the hands point to 6, 4, and 3, respectively. These figures are critical for the following step. 

Using the Talisman: Interact with the restored plate and enter 6, 4, and 3 into your Talisman. This action initiates a new memory sequence, allowing entry to Jeremy Hartwood's room and progressing the storyline.

By attentively following these procedures, you will be able to successfully explore the Gallery Clock Puzzle in Alone in the Dark, unlocking new regions and immersing yourself in the game's story.
