Near the start of the Legacy of the Forge DLC, Henry faces the Blacksmiths' Guild Trial as part of the Adept quest. The trial begins with a short quiz where Henry must answer three questions correctly.

This is followed by a practical test in which he must forge a sword worthy of the guild's standards.

Before the questions, Master Bushek offers Henry a handbook for 100 Groschen. This can be used to revise and prepare for the quiz, but it isn't strictly necessary.

Players with limited Groschen can rely on Henry's prior knowledge, gained from Blacksmith Radovan during earlier encounters, to answer the questions correctly.

The quiz questions are drawn randomly from a pool and asked in a random order. A timer limits how long you have to answer each question, so it's important to review all Guild Trial knowledge beforehand.

Sample questions and answers include:

Are Sparks While Forging a Good or Bad Sign?

Answer: That depends.

What is the Color of a Correctly Heated Workpiece?

Answer: Straw yellow.

Why Do Blacksmiths Whistle While They Work?

Answer: To keep rhythm.

What's The Final Step Before Completing a Piece?

Answer: Quenching.

How Can You Tell You've Made Progress on Your Workpiece?

Answer: By the shape.

After answering correctly, Henry receives the blueprint for a Blacksmith's Guild Longsword along with the necessary materials. Under the watchful eye of guild members, players must then forge the sword.

Aim for Gold quality by heating evenly, hammering in a consistent rhythm, and flipping the sword to work both sides equally.

If the sword is Bronze quality, players can try again for 200 Groschen at any later time. They do not need to redo the quiz. A high Craftsmanship skill and Blacksmith perks increase the chance of producing higher-quality swords.

Successfully forging the sword grants Henry acceptance into the guild and the ability to return to his new forge to continue working.
