Kingdom Come: Deliverance II follows in the footsteps of the first game, continuing the saga of Henry of Skalitz as he resumes his crusade of vengeance and adventure. Maintaining cleanliness is an essential aspect of the game, as having dirty clothes can have negative effects whenever you interact with NPCs; this guide shows you how.
Your clothes can become stained with dirt, blood, and other gunk, making it necessary to wash them regularly. One of the main locations for washing clothes is the bathhouse, which is situated west of Talmberg, the first village you encounter.
When you’re at the bathhouse, the simplest way to clean your clothes is by using a trough. When you interact with a trough, gunk-like dirt and blood are removed, but this doesn’t really give your clothes a thorough cleaning. You’ll get a notification whenever you reach the maximum level of cleanliness using this method.
For a deeper cleanse, you’ll need to speak to the bathhouse owner. Doing so allows you access to soap, which you can purchase to wash clothes more effectively. Buying soap isn’t the only way you can get your hands on it; there are other methods as well; you can also obtain it by finding a recipe for it in the bathhouse on the second floor. There, you’ll find the recipe in a barrel; stealing it allows you to craft it, buying you having to buy it.
Another way to wash your clothes is to use the laundry area behind the bathhouse. By following the road past the bathhouse entrance, you can find a body of water labeled “laundry.” Standing on the wooden jetty washes both you and your clothes. This method removes bloodstains, but it doesn’t fully clean them. Once again, you’ll need soap to fully cleanse them.
Wearing damaged armor and clothing can also affect your appearance and performance, requiring you to repair them. Whilst you can clean them without soap, you wouldn’t be able to restore them to their fully cleansed state, which would again require you to use soap.
