Silent Hill 2 Guide | How to Find the Hunting Rifle

The Hunting Rifle in Silent Hill 2 is arguably the best weapon in the game. After playing the game for a handful of hours, you should reach the more daunting areas in Toluca Prison; the eerie corridors of the prison make it psychologically unsettling, but fear not! This guide will help you get your desired Hunting Rifle.

To get your hands on the Hunting Rifle first, you’ll need to make your way to the armory. You’ll see that the armory will be locked behind a compartment for which you’ll need the Armory Key. In order to get the Armory Key, you’ll need to solve a few puzzles within the area.

First, you’ll need to make your way into the Chapel, where you’ll find a weight. Then, you’ll need to head to the Yard and place the weights accordingly (smallest on the left and heaviest on the right). If you did that correctly, the Serpent door should open. When the door opens, you’ll need to go through the cell block and solve the Generator Puzzle in the Witness Room by overloading the panel.

After Solving the puzzle, go to Cell E1. You will see a crack that you can further open to go to the other side; go through it and head towards Cell E10. You’ll come across a crevice that you have to pass to reach the Armory Key. If you look around, you’ll find another door that will lead you to Floor 1F.

Lastly, you can use the Armory Key to get your hands on the Hunting Rifle after opening the locker.
