Silent Hill 2 Guide | How to Get Dog Ending

The best psychological horror game, which influences almost every horror game today, just got a remake. The Silent Hill 2 Remake is currently the best way to experience this horror masterpiece.

Just like the original, this game features multiple endings. There are all six endings from the original, plus two more, for a total of eight possible endings. This game handles endings a little differently—rather than requiring you to make a certain dialogue decision to get the endings, your endings are determined by how the game is played.

The conditions are quite ambiguous—how frequently James is healed, how Maria is managed, and so on influence how your game finishes. Fortunately, the way to get the six original endings largely remains the same as they were in the original.

This guide will show you how to get the Dog ending in this remake of Silent Hill 2.

How To Get the Dog Ending

This is one of the two joke endings that are available in Silent Hill 2. It was also in the original. Silent Hill 2 is iconic for featuring such a comical ending in a game as serious and terrifying as this. Note that this ending is only attainable in New Game+.

In any case, to get this ending, you have to acquire two items: Broken Key Parts and a Dog Key.

Where To Find Broken Key Parts

First Broken Key Part

Once you've encountered your first enemy in your New Game+ run, head into Big Jays in East South Vale. The Pet Center is one store higher and just north of it. The Broken Key Part is located on a table in a small room in the back.

Second Broken Key Part

You want to go through West South Vale by making your way through Jacks Inn after meeting with Maria. You can reach Katz Street after unlocking the gate blocking your way.

From here, go westwards as you pan your camera north. Keep an eye out for a wooden gate that bears the insignia of a bone after you pass the first home on the right. The second piece of the broken key should be in the dog house in the back of the home, so make your way through here.

Combine The Two Parts To Make The Dog Key

You can make the Dog Key by putting together the two Broken Key Parts that you now have in your inventory. Get the Dog Ending by using Room 312 in the Lakeview Hotel to open the Observation Room next door when you're nearing the finish of the game.
