Expedition 33: Clair Obscur Guide | Demineur Side Quest (Deminerim Weapon for Lune)

You can begin this quest after you've rejoined with Maelle as part of the main storyline. Once she joins your group, a new path will open. Follow that path until you reach an area with a large shipwreck in the center.

Head to the right of the wreckage, where you'll encounter some enemies. Defeat them and keep going until you find a toppled jar that leads into a narrow path.

At the end of this path, you will come across an NPC named Demineur.

Do Not Attack Demineur

You mustn't attack Demineur. Examine the character, but don't strike. If you attack, you'll lose access to the quest and the associated rewards, and you'll have to reload a previous save to try again.

After examining Demineur, your next objective is to retrieve a mine. Look to the right, or the east, of the NPC's location. You'll find an area with circular platforms that you need to jump across.

This part involves a little bit of platforming. If you fall, don't worry—there is a climbable wall that lets you get back up and try again.

Make your way across to the glowing purple object. This is the intact mine you're looking for. Once you have it, jump down and loop back around to the jar entrance near Demineur.

Completing the Quest and Rewards

Return to Demineur and interact again to give the intact mine. Once you hand it over, you'll receive your reward. You now have the DEMINERIM weapon for Lune, which is a Level 3 weapon and quite powerful.

At this point, you can choose to leave or attack Demineur. If you attack, you may receive additional rewards. While it's unclear if this affects the main story, it doesn't appear to carry any significant consequences. Defeating Demineur grants you more loot, including Color of Lumina x3 and Chroma Catalyst x1.

That concludes the side quest. Whether you leave in peace or take the extra fight is up to you, but either way, the weapon alone makes this encounter worth completing.
