Konami seems to love punishing players with locks and puzzles in every which way in their 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2. Sometimes, it gets tiresome and a little irritating, but this game will surely delight all of you puzzle lovers out there. And if you do get stuck, we’re here to help!

The Toluca Prison area in Silent Hill 2 is jam-packed with riddles. You’ll need to be determined and have strong willpower if you want to progress through the game’s tedious puzzles. This is no different when you are faced with the generator in the Witness Room – an essential challenge – and it will help you get your hands on the hunting rifle and let you explore the prison.

You’ll need to activate the generator if you want to progress into the Death Chamber. Once we turn it on, we have three levels: the maintenance level is green, the Optimal level is yellow, and the Danger level is red. You’ll need to find the right combination of switches to flip to move the dial to the red zone and unlock the door. The six dials need to be flipped in a specific order.

Like most puzzles in Silent Hill 2, the number and order of switches vary with difficulty. In light difficulty, there are 5 switches, 6 in standard and 7 in hard.

In the Light Difficult, you’ll need to flip the switches in this order:

- 4th, 5th,2nd, 1st, 3rd

In the Standard Difficult, you’ll need to flip the switches in this order:

- 6th, 4th, 5th,1st,3rd,2nd

In the Hard Difficulty, you’ll need to flip the switches in this order:

- 4th, 5th,2nd, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th

After you’re done flipping the switch order accordingly, you’ll need to flip the main breaker to overload. This should overload all the doors in Toluca Prison, letting you freely explore the area.
