Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Guide | Combat Rating

Here’s a guide explaining the Combat Rating system.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the new Combat Rating system is a newly introduced RPG-like progression system that offers structured progression within the Endgame Mode.

It acts like a skill tree in RPGs, giving you perks that improve survivability, mobility, and enhanced combat. The Combat Rating boosts will include perks like:

  •  Increased armor vest capacity.
  •  Faster health replenishing.
  •  Improved weapon accuracy.
  •  Better damage output.

You will be rewarded with Combat Rating XP whenever you eliminate enemies, complete mission rewards, and just generally play the game.

Anything that influences how you gain XP in endgame will inevitably reward you with Combat Rating, but in terms of efficiency, missions will provide you with the most Combat Rating overall.

Every time you reach a new Combat Rating level, two upgrade prompts will appear on your screen, but you will only be allowed to select one each time.

You won't have to stress about making decisions, though, as the missed upgrades will tend to appear later, so the consequences of your choices won't be as detrimental.

I would recommend putting an emphasis on movement-related traits, as they will help you navigate through the map faster.

Armor or damage upgrades are ideal if you prefer a more tanky build. Upgrading through your personal preference will lead to your own personal style over time.

Combat Rating will also determine which zones you can properly access in the map, as the endgame mode is divided into four distinct zones, each of which varies in difficulty.

  • Zone 1 will be accessible to any level.
  • Zone 2 is recommended for a Combat Rating of a minimum of 10.
  • Zone 3 is recommended for a Combat Rating of a minimum of  30.
  • Zone 4 is recommended for Combat Rating of a minimum of  45.

The maximum Combat Rating ceiling is Level 60.

It's essential that you survive because dying will result in your Combat Rating going back to level 1, and a full squad wipe will do the same.

Exfiling is the only way you will be able to protect your progress and save time.

The perks of being at a higher Combat Rating are that you will be able to immediately enter difficult zones without having to grind at lower levels, and that way, you will be able to earn high-tier rewards by taking on high-tier enemies.
