In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Augment Research is one of the more important aspects of progression. Choosing the right upgrades early on can make a huge shift in progression. Researching augments does take time, especially once you've already progressed in that specific augment.

Choosing the right augment to prioritize does help speed things up in terms of progress. This guide will assist you in doing so.

Fire Works

This augment acts as a strong starting point. The Fire Works ammo mod acts as one of the strongest ammo mods in Black Ops 7. It's extremely effective at taking on large hordes of enemies, and it is useful when grinding for Camo challenges, which rely on numerous kills or ammo mod activation.

Jugger-Nog

Prioritizing Jugger-Nog is important early on as it helps you access additional augment slots. Having this slot greatly improves your combat and overall survivability.

For a major augment, you will want to prioritize Probiotics as it increases your maximum health.

You could also choose a few minor augments like Hardened Plates, as they increase your damage resistance and Durable Plates to boost overall armor longevity.

Stacking these two augments will create a strong defensive setup, allowing you to play more aggressively and be more tanky.

Vulture Aid

Prioritizing augments from Vulture Aid handy especially for someone who is struggling with resource management.

As a major augment, you’ll want to get Armor-Matic. Picking up an armor plate will apply it automatically to your vest, making it really useful.

Elemental Pop

Elemental Pop is also worth researching, as it features a lot of elemental perks, and attacks can cause random ammo mods.

From Elemental Pop, one of the key augments that you should prioritize is the Rainbow Pop.

This augment allows for ammo-modded weapons to occasionally do elemental damage, which will align with the enemies' weaknesses.

It feels overpowered to use, as as do many things that significantly increase your damage per second and remove the need to switch to another weapon for specific enemy types.

When combined with other elemental augments that increase elemental weakness damage, Elemental Pop becomes a top-tier research choice that becomes a blind pick.

Double Tap

Double Tap is another great research to prioritize, as it unlocks a second major augment slot. Most of the augments in Double Tap increase your rate of fire, making it significantly easier to take down hordes of enemies at once.

When you augment like Double Time with Double Caliber, not only do you increase damage per second, you also increase bullet penetration damage, which makes it deadlier.

Aether Shroud

Prioritizing the Aether Shroud research is important tespecially early on, as it does take time to progress through the augments. For easter egg bonuses and difficult objectives, it's one of those researches that end up coming in clutch.

Group Shroud is a crucial augment, but when you pair it with upgrades such as Extra Charge and Extension, you will notice dramatic improvements in your boss fights.

Utilizing these augments will give you a strong roadmap for progression. Especially early on in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. A lot of these will depend on your playstyle. So, at the end of the day, it's best that you prioritize what may work for you.
