Silent Hill 2 Guide | How to Get Stillness Ending
Here's how to get the Stillness Ending in the Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Game Guide by Nine_toes on Oct 09, 2024
The best psychological horror game, which influences almost every horror game today, just got a remake. The Silent Hill 2 Remake is currently the best way to experience this horror masterpiece.
Just like the original, this game features multiple endings. There are all six endings from the original, plus two more, for a total of eight possible endings. This game handles endings a little differently—rather than requiring you to make a certain dialogue decision to get the endings, your endings are determined by how the game is played.
The conditions are quite ambiguous—how frequently James is healed, how Maria is managed, and so on influence how your game finishes. Fortunately, the way to get the six original endings largely remains the same as they were in the original.
This guide will show you how to get the Stillness ending in the Silent Hill 2 Remake. This is one of the two brand-new endings added to the remake.
How To Get the Stillness Ending
To get the Stillness ending in Silent Hill 2, you need to be playing on New Game+. First, you must get the Key of Sorrow.
How To Get The Key of Sorrow
Under the bridge immediately before town, this is housed inside a green car. You should be able to grab the key by smashing the car's right rear window. Once you've obtained the key, there's nothing more to do with it until the end of the game.
Unlock A Safe in Lake View Hotel
As you progress through the game's story, you will eventually reach the otherworld version of Lake View Hotel. Keep playing until you encounter Angela's scene. Afterward, head upstairs and make your way into the manager's office. In this office, you will find a safe.
Place the Key of Sorrow inside the safe and use the combination —
R3, L1, R4
Once the safe is unlocked, take out the postcard that is inside.
From this point, you should be locked into the Stillness ending. All that is left is to finish the game as you normally would. If you've done the In Water ending before, you may feel some serious déjà vu here.
