The "Deus Ex" trophy in Final Fantasy XVI is a challenging achievement that insists that you master all of Ultima's eikonic skills. As the final Eikon in the game, Ultima grants Clive some of its most powerful talents. Acquiring these talents, however, involves completing specific narrative events, earning Ability Points (AP), and unlocking the skill tree system. In this guide, we will take you through unlocking Ultima's skills and earning the trophy.
Finish The Story
Ultima's Eikonic talents can be unlocked towards the end of the main storyline. In terms of the game's closing events, specifically following the quest for Clive's duel with Ultima, these powers become unlockable. As you progress through the storyline, Clive accumulates Ultima's powers, and a new range of powers will become accessible in the menu for predicates.
Ensure that you follow through with the main quest, and no additional information will grant access to Ultima's powers. Ensure that you win all preceding battles with Eikons in order to enable relevant narrative events.
Search For Ultima's Powers in The Menu
Once unlocked, Ultima's talents can be found in the menu under the Eikonic abilities section. Ultima's powers and abilities have a specific section prioritized for Ultima, which includes a variety of attacking utility and augmentation options. Ultima's powers are part of the most destructive in the game, capable of inflicting colossal damage and fit for both one-on-one and many-person battles. Before proceeding, familiarize yourself with the talents and requirements.
Earn Ability Points (AP)
Unlocking and mastering Ultima's skills require a lot of AP. By now, you must have a significant amount of AP, but unlocking and mastering such skills will require careful grinding. To gain AP, try out the following actions:
- Complete S-Rank and A-Rank hunting in hunting boards in order to gain high AP reward. High-rank monsters drop useful items that can boost Clive's gear.
- Defeat High-Level monsters. There are strong enemies in endgame locations with high AP. Spend many an hour patrolling locations like Origin or Waloed in order to boost your earnings.
- Engage in Chronolith Trials. These trials test your Eikonic powers, and completing them successfully will reward a lot of AP.
Prioritize these actions in order to gain the AP and unlock Ultima's skill set unnecessarily.
Master and unlock Ultima's Skills
Once you have enough AP, switch on Ultima's skills one at a time. All skills have a variable cost, with a few costs between 1,000 AP to learn and master. Mastering a skill maximizes its performance, and different Eikonic loadouts can be applied to it. Having such versatility is important to form perfect builds specific to your fighting style.
Unlock skills in a way best conducive to your fighting style. If you prefer aggressive fighting, prioritize offensive skills with high damage, such as "Rapture" or "Dominion. " If you crave versatility, choose skills with utility effects. Unlock such skills early to maximize effectiveness during battles.
Build Your Eikonic Loadout
After you've unlocked all of Ultima's powers, shape your loadout with them in your arsenal. Ultima powers synergize with other Eikons' powers, and powerful synergy can form between them. Experiment with Ultima's offensive powers, Titan's defensive powers, or Garuda's agility powers. This adjustment is paramount for getting the most out of Clive's powers and defeating the most challenging enemies in the game.
Finish With the Final Battle
Once you unlock all of Ultima's skills, completing the main storyline is the final challenge. The "Deus Ex" trophy is unlocked by defeating the last boss and unlocking all Ultima skills. By then, Clive will have unparalleled power, and, therefore, the final battle will be easier. Utilize Ultima's powers to tactically exploit enemy weaknesses and master battles.
More efficiency tips
To make it go at a pace, attempt wearing items with enhanced AP gain in times of war. These items can be acquired through times of side quests or purchased from dealers. To save points for Ultima's skillset, don't spend AP on powers not regularly used early in the game. Practicing Ultima's powers in little battles and trials can also perfect your timing and combo for the final battle.
Finally…
Unlocking Ultima's Eikonic powers and achieving the "Deus Ex" trophy is a reward-filled quest proving Clive's full potential. By adhering to this guide and taking your time with the AP collection, not only will you have earned the trophy, but you will have access to the most powerful tools for overcoming the most challenging problems in the game.
