Romancing Katherine is easily missable; here’s how you won’t.

Katherine is one of the first characters you’ll meet in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. She’s also a very intriguing and integral part of the main cast. She’ll remain one of the more vague and hard-to-achieve romance options, and it is definitely a long-term thing for her. This guide will help you get the Romance Scenes with Katherine.

As previously mentioned, romancing Katherine is a long-term endeavor. Many of the options you might get with her are very vague, and the game definitely doesn’t tell you it's related to romance. Overall, you’ll need to always pick the option that grants you reputation with her, basically making her like you more. This will unlock more options later on.

Throughout the Campaign

In the campaign, you’ll have numerous options where you’ll be able to flirt with her. There’s nothing that actually happens from them, but it does help. These moments come up when you are fleeing from Rattay, when you are in Suchdol, and when you are in Sigismund’s Camp. Succeeding them brings boosts to reputation, but it is unclear if they must be passed in order to progress romance.

Side Quests

Katherine will give a few side quests. These win her trust, so you’ll need to complete them. Be careful, though; these are highly missable and always expire when you progress to a certain point in the main story.

The Fifth Commandment

The first of these quests is the Fifth Commandment, which you get when Katherine is in Kuttemberg. The Fifth Commandment involves bringing a serial killer to justice. You have a few ways to deal with the killer. You can either report things to the Bailiff or go to Katherine, who’ll finish the job herself. You need to let Katherine finish the job herself

The Stalker

The next side quest you’ll encounter is the Stalker, which happens during the main quest, Lion’s Den. The most natural way you encounter this is when speaking to Katherine after the bath scene with her and Henry. She will talk to you about a strange person who is tracking her.

You will get a few ways to track the mystery person down; the best way here is to have Mutt track him down with the Houndmaster Trait. Once you find the culprit, a Cuman called Chakan, you can scare him off, bribe him, defeat him in a fistfight, or just ask him to stop. You need to do this before finishing the Lion’s Den quest.

The Italian Job

As you progress through the main story quest, ‘Italian Job,’ where you free the hostages and make your way into the mint, you’ll get to talk to Zizka. Before you do, you should go out and talk to Katherine. You will find her on the second floor of the mint. You can speak to her and tell her she looks pretty. This basically starts the romance with her for real.

Hunger & Despair: Katherine Romance Scene

After that, you should try to increase your reputation at every opportunity you get. Usually, having a few reputation boosts is enough. During the latter part of Hunger & Despair, you’ll be asked by Zizka to go on a dangerous mission. You will get a prompt to ask about Katherine’s past. Inquire about it and learn all you can.

Speak with Katherine, exhaust all options, and reply with, ‘I will bring help, and everything will be alright again. You can then go out to the ramparts and interact with the bed. This will trigger a cutscene with Katherine. Enjoy.

Note that the romance scene with Katherine is mutually exclusive with Sir Hans. So, if you romance him as well, you will have to pick between the scene with Hans and Katherine.
