Unlocking Research Institutions is an excellent method of finding some of the best surprises the game has to offer. Although the researchers provide exclusive rewards, their location usually relies on how you are doing in the story or how well you accomplish the given tasks.

There will be Fast Travel points at every location, although it will still require some walking to get to the buildings themselves.

Pororin and the Starting Quest

The first institution is at Pororin, far south of Hernand. To reach this spot, you need an item, which you get in a quest of your starting town.

You will find a child in the neighborhood of the church bell tower in Hernand who is looking to find a cat. By completing this mission, acquire the necessary item.

As a newcomer in Pororin, you will be kicked out by the local children. You have to make three or four attempts until they initiate a chain of quests that gives you complete access to the researcher in Crimson Desert.

Scholastone Institute

The Scholastone Institute will probably be seen in Chapter 2 or Chapter 3. Although one may be able to discover it earlier, following the main story is the most sure way to find it.

There are no special restrictions or items required as in other places. As soon as you come to the location, you can just walk directly to the researcher and talk to him/her.

Great Gate of Urdavah

The Great Gate of Urdavah institution can be found in the north and is a part of the Chapter 10 storyline.

In order to access the researcher, you will have to scale up a huge cliff to access an exclusive building. The researcher is situated at the top of an elevator. Due to the fact that this area is vertical, it is among the more scenic institutions to visit.

Gorthak Ironworks

The Gorthak Ironworks Orcs institution tends to emerge toward Chapter 11. It is somewhat disorienting because the main research structure is separated from the researcher himself, who is located a short distance away on the map in Crimson Desert.

The other institution is located in Dewhaven. Take care, the majority of the enemies will attack you as soon as they see you.

This place is hard to reach right at the beginning of the game due to the sheer hostility of the enemies, so it is only worth going there once you have reached a better level or when the narrative leads you to this particular place.

Delesyian Institute

The last one is the Delesyian Institute. Until approximately Chapter 9, this is rather a dangerous area, due to the hostility of the local creatures.

Navigating is much easier when you find yourself here through the story and the place is more peaceful. This research contact is on the primary grounds of the institute in Crimson Desert.
