You’ll find it difficult to reach the areas hidden behind waterfalls. Even experienced explorers often struggle to figure out the trick, trying different skills or items to shield themselves from the falling water.

The solution is actually quite simple once you know what to look for. Almost every waterfall in the game that hides a cave is home to Epic Treasures, so it is always worth your time to investigate any you find during your travels.

Identifying Hidden Entrances

When you approach a waterfall, it might look like there is no space behind the water. To find the path, look for specific environmental clues.

Small Stone Pillars near the edge of the water often mark the exact spot where an entrance is located. These markers tell you that a Waterfall Cave is nearby. Once you spot these pillars, you know you are in the right place to attempt an entry in Crimson Desert.

Using the Pierce Attack

To get through the wall of water and into the cave, you must use a specific move called the Pierce Attack. This is a basic stabbing motion that you will use for various puzzles throughout the world.

On a PlayStation controller, you perform this by pressing R1 and Triangle at the same time. If you are playing on Xbox, the command is RB and Y. For those on PC, you simply combine your Light Attack with your Punch button.

Entering and Exiting

Getting the timing right can take a few tries; you might strike a bit too early or too late at first. Once you land the Pierce Attack correctly against the water's surface, the game will let you pass through to the other side in Crimson Desert.

You use this same technique when you are ready to leave the cave and return to the open world. Mastering this simple move is the key to uncovering the best hidden loot in the game.
