Finding the best Crimson Desert pet locations for Dogs and Puppies is a great way to get a companion for your journey early on.

While a quest later in the story explains how to do this, you can actually start building friendship with animals much sooner to get the Looting benefit they provide. Focus on finding a dog you like, as they are helpful pets that can pick up items for you while you explore.

Building Friendship Fast

Every pet has a daily friendship cap of twenty-five points from petting. Each time you pet a dog, you gain five points, so you only need to do this five times to hit that limit for the day.

To speed up the Trust process, you can also feed them meat from your inventory for an extra ten points. To do this, find the food in your bag, hold the use button, select the option to take it out, and then drop it on the ground.

Be careful where you leave the food, as other stray animals or even a Homeless Person might steal it before your target can eat in Crimson Desert.

The Midnight Reset Trick

The most efficient way to get a pet in a single sitting is to use the in-game clock. Friendship points reset exactly at midnight. If you find a dog around 11:00 p.m., you can do all your petting and feeding to max out the points for that day.

As soon as the clock strikes midnight, the game allows you to perform those actions all over again.

If you time your point accumulation just before and immediately after the reset, you can achieve the 100% Friendship goal in a matter of minutes, rather than the days it would normally take.

Finding Rare Dogs

There are several unique dogs scattered across the world that you can claim. A popular choice is the White Dog, which stays near the center square in Hernand.

If you are looking for something more rugged, there is a Military Dog that carries a bow and arrow on its back.

You can usually find him at the end of the path in the higher regions of the map. You can even find small puppies in certain residential areas if you look closely in Crimson Desert.

Finalizing the Bond

Once the friendship meter reaches 100%, a new interaction option will appear to take the animal with you. After you select this, the dog becomes your permanent companion.

To manage your new pets, open your inventory and navigate to the Pets Tab. From there, you can summon them to your side or send them away whenever you need.

While their movement can sometimes be a bit slow, having them around to gather your loot makes your adventures much smoother in Crimson Desert.
