To unlock the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, start at your Lifepod and travel southwest to the 240 heading. This path leads to the area for the Blackbox Wander mission. You must have your Sonic Resonator equipped before you begin, as you will need it to clear obstacles.

Clearing the Path
Once you reach the large rock formation with the Scientist Table, look for the hole at the bottom and swim inside. Use your Sonic Resonator to break the Viral Bloom blocking your way in Subnautica 2.
You need to destroy all the Viral Blooms in this zone to stop the parasite effect. After you clear these, you can interact with the Blackbox if you have not done so already.
To find the location for the upgrade, look at the direction the mouth-shaped structure is facing and head left. You will eventually arrive at the Angel Comb. You cannot use it yet because more Viral Blooms are blocking the way.
Follow the path further to find the next set of blooms and break them using the Sonic Resonator in Subnautica 2.

Unlocking Heat Tolerance
Return to the Angel Comb after clearing the path. You might need to break one final Viral Bloom in the area to clear the way completely. Once the area is free of them, you can finally interact with the Angel Comb.
This action unlocks the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, which lets you travel into hotter zones on the map.
You can verify your progress by opening your menu and selecting the Adaptations tab. Once you’ve done the process in Subnautica 2, the Heat Tolerance entry will show up there.
