Here’s a guide on how to get Base Upgrades in Subnautica 2.

You need a Habitat Tool to start building. At first, the tool only lets you make a Corridor and a Hatch. This is not a problem because a simple Corridor is enough to keep you alive in the beginning. Your first big goal is to get power.

You do this by building Solar Panels on the outside. The panels give your base electricity, which creates oxygen so you can breathe. You must watch the clock, though.

At night, the panels only make about one unit of power each. Build a group of panels together so your oxygen stays on until the sun comes back up in Subnautica 2.

Finding Noa Terminals and Signals

You have to find blueprints out in the world to build better rooms. This is tied to the Noa Mission. Keep an eye on the Noa Terminal for updates. You can find one inside the Life Pod that floats on the water, or you can check the one in your main base.

The system will tell you when the Noa Pod gets a new notification. These updates give you blackbox coordinates to track. You will see names like Blackbox Ruby, Blackbox Anita, and Blackbox Chap pop up.

Turn on your UI tracker and swim toward the markers. These spots always hold excellent gear and tech upgrades.

Scanning Items for Blueprints

Look for artificial lights when you get close to a marker. Lights mean an old crew left a base or camp there. When you find an old base, look around for things to scan with your Scanning Tool.

You can scan objects like the Bioreactor, Floor Locker, Stool, Repair Tool, and Bed. Some small items unlock after a single scan in Subnautica 2.

Bigger structures will force you to find multiple copies to scan before you get the blueprint. Always look for a Biobed when you explore.

Touching it expands your personal inventory space so you can hold more stuff. Finding these camps is how you get the plans for new walls and larger rooms.
