Subnautica 2 is highly restrictive when it comes to managing your items. Materials, supplies, and other resources do not stack in your inventory slots.
Every single item you collect takes up its own separate space. This rule applies to the slots on your character and inside your storage containers back at home.
While building extra storage for your base is simple, expanding the carrying capacity on your actual character requires you to venture out into the world and search for specific technology.

Finding Remnants of Civilization
You must explore underwater facility areas and look for signs of human life to expand your carrying limit. Keep an eye out for artificial lights, torches, and other markers that point to old camps off the main paths in Subnautica 2.
Following side quests from the Noa device will lead you to these spots. Specifically, checking the blackbox signals like Blackbox Chap will guide you right to these hidden facilities. When you enter an old base, look for objects that are still in good condition and not broken on the floor.

Interacting with the Biobed
You will find a Biobed inside these intact facilities. Many people make the mistake of only using the Scanning Tool on it. Scanning the unit is helpful because it lets you build a Biobed at your own base so you can respawn there.
However, you must actually step up and interact with the small console attached to the unit. Using this device gives you a permanent boost to your stats and adds several new slots to your character inventory.
Don’t miss the notification on your screen when you click the console, especially if you’re busy collecting other items in the room in Subnautica 2.
