The Houndmaster Toyotaro Bounty is a quest available in the Teshio Ridge region of Ghost of Yōtei. This guide explains how to unlock the Bounty, where to find Toyotaro, how to deal with his Hounds during the encounter, and what rewards you will receive upon completing the mission.

Unlocking Houndmaster Toyotaro Bounty

The Houndmaster Toyotaro Bounty is unlocked by default and can be accepted at the Red Crane Inn Bounty Board. The board is located outside the inn next to Kojiro, the Bounty Broker. Interact with the Bounty board to take the Bounty along with any other available Bounties in Ghost of Yōtei.

Location of Houndmaster Toyotaro

The Bounty’s location is near the Teshio River, northwest of the Red Crane Inn. After accepting the Bounty, select Houndmaster Toyotaro on your map to track it, and follow the Guiding Wind to reach the targeted area.

Once near the Teshio River, explore the surroundings until you come across a pack of Dogs. Investigate the Dogs to gain a clue that will lead you closer to Toyotaro’s camp. Continue searching the area until you discover cages and a campfire, which will indicate Toyotaro’s location. In some cases, you may encounter Toyotaro directly, who will immediately start the fight alongside his Dogs in Ghost of Yōtei.

You can also reach him by going northwest of the Red Crane Inn and south of the Teshio River, where you will find a snowy field filled with cages. There, you will encounter a lone man surrounded by several Dogs — this is Toyotaro.

Fighting Houndmaster Toyotaro

During the fight, Toyotaro’s Dogs will engage you alongside their master. These Dogs can help charge your Onryo’s Howl, and they are relatively easy to defeat. Focus on eliminating the Dogs first to reduce distractions, then deal with Toyotaro. Once Toyotaro is defeated, the Bounty will be completed in Ghost of Yōtei.

Bounty Completion Rewards

After defeating Houndmaster Toyotaro, return to Kojiro the Bounty Broker at the Red Crane Inn to claim your rewards. Completing the Bounty will grant you Toyotaro’s Fang and 750 Coins in Ghost of Yōtei.
