Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a bold step in this beloved series, deviating from traditional norms of the hack-and-slash genre while maintaining its iconic appeal.
This guide covers the Chibi & Huarong Path. Each stage presents its own challenges. I’ll break down each stage, offering tips and strategies to help you navigate through them efficiently.
Battle of Chibi
Starting with the Battle of Chibi, the challenge is to win with six or more allied officers surviving. This is fairly easy if you focus on rushing Cao Cao. Taking your time might risk your allies’ survival, but in the early stages, you don’t need to worry too much. Unique officers who die will respawn at the top of the map, so they’re not permanently lost.
At the start, use a weapon you’re comfortable with—swords are a great choice for their versatility. Begin on the left side, defeat a few officers, and then head south to take out archers and generals. After that, move to the eastern side to prepare for Cao Cao’s arrival. Defeating Lu Meng in a duel will lower enemy morale, making it easier to clear the area. Use tactics like “Encourage” to weaken enemies further and finish them off quickly.
Once Cao Cao docks his ship, rush to him immediately. He’ll be surrounded by strong NPCs, so use bravery boosts, attack boosts, and your strongest battle arts to take him down. Focus on reducing his health to half to trigger the fire attack. After the fire attack, restock on health items (meat buns) and quickly defeat Xu Shu to prevent him from extinguishing the flames. Then, head back to Cao Cao and finish him off to secure victory.
Huarong Path Battle
The challenge here is to win within 15 minutes. This might seem tight, but avoiding unnecessary fights and focusing on the main objectives is manageable.
Start by clearing the first area and opening the gate to reach Yue Jin. Defeating him helps your allies, but it’s not mandatory. Next, move to Zhang He in the big base. Instead of fully defeating him, knock him down and rush to open the door. This saves time and lets you progress faster.
In the next section, avoid prolonged fights with Zhang Liao and focus on surviving until Zhang Fei initiates a duel. Win the duel to proceed. Later, Guan Yu will join you with his True Musou ability. Use this to deal heavy damage to enemies and open the next gate quickly.
As you approach the final area, ignore unnecessary fights and focus on Cao Cao. Guan Yu’s True Musou will be a huge help here. Use it to deal massive damage to Cao Cao and finish him off. If you’re low on health, there are meat buns nearby to restock.
By rushing Cao Cao and avoiding distractions, you can complete the battle within the time limit and secure victory.
