Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a bold step in this beloved series, deviating from traditional norms of the hack-and-slash genre while maintaining its iconic appeal.
This guide covers the battle of Baima & Yanjin, and 1,000-Li March. Each stage presents its own challenges. I'll break down each stage, offering tips and strategies to help you navigate through them efficiently.
Battle of Baima & Yanjin
The challenge in the Battle of Baima and Yanjin is to defeat Yan Liang and provide aid to Baima Castle within 15 minutes. This battle is one of the more enjoyable maps, offering plenty of experience points and action. The challenge is straightforward, and 15 minutes is more than enough time to complete it.
The battle begins with Wang Gu attempting to relay a message to Yan Liang. As fast as you can, prevent Yan Liang's escape plan by defeating him quickly. Then, help Zhang Liao clear out the base and ambush the enemy forces. This weakens the enemy and helps out morale, which makes area-clearing easier.
Your main purpose here is to take out Yan Liang's large force so that, in the end, we can get to fight him in a duel and defeat him for this challenge. If the field were to see Cao Cao or any of the officers, then assist Ban Zhao should he be struggling, but usually, he holds his own. Following the defeat of Yan Liang, proceed toward the lower part of the map to assist comrades and wipe out remaining enemies.
This battle is straightforward and doesn't require rushing. Take time to clear enemies and support allies, but keep an eye on the clock to ensure Yan Liang is defeated within the 15-minute limit.
1,000-Li March
The challenge in the 1,000-Li March is to reach the fifth gate within 6 minutes. Due to the time constraint, this battle is a bit more intense, but with the right strategy, it can be completed efficiently.
Start by using a weapon you're comfortable with, such as the sword, for quick officer takedowns. The first gate is guarded by a single officer—defeat them quickly and move on. At the second gate, defeat the two officers guarding it. For the third gate, use the Swift Advance tactic to bypass obstacles and save time.
The fourth gate is guarded by another single officer. Defeat them swiftly and move on to the fifth gate. Here, a stronger officer guards the gate. Defeat them quickly, and if the gate doesn't open immediately, duel and defeat Zhang Fei to trigger its opening.
Once the fifth gate is cleared, the challenge is complete. Continue the battle normally by rallying with Liu Bei and clearing any remaining enemies. This battle requires speed and focus, so use bravery boosts and strong attacks to clear gates quickly.
