Dynasty Warriors: Origins is a bold step in this beloved series, deviating from traditional norms of the hack-and-slash genre while maintaining its iconic appeal.
This guide covers the Assault of Nanyang & the Siege of Fan Castle. Each stage presents its own challenges. I'll break down each stage, offering tips and strategies to help you navigate through them efficiently.
Assault of Nanyang
In this battle, you are required to defeat the large enemy forces in 15 minutes. You’ll have to maintain a strong offensive approach, and it’s recommended that your character level be a little higher than recommended so that this challenge becomes a bit easier.
If you follow the normal battle path after clearing the bases along the way, you will encounter a split in the road ahead. The better choice is to assist Sun Jian and Sun Shanxiang to the south; bringing them along will give you extra support when attacking the large force. I wouldn’t recommend trying to assist all the allied forces, as it can take a significant amount of time.
Once you reach the large force, use attack and bravery boosts to clear enemies. Try hitting the western side first, then move to the east. It would also help if you took down the officers before engaging in combat with the main commander.
This challenge should be easy with the right strategy and time management.
Siege of Fan Castle
This battle requires you to make sure the fire arrow barrage is launched. While this may seem simple, the enemy forces will try to disrupt the objective by sending reinforcements to the base.
In this case, use weapons that deal high damage and use AOE attacks to clear out enemies quickly. Weapons like Halberds would be a great choice for this, as they are pretty good with crowd control. When you reach the northeast base, clear the initial enemies as soon as you can before the reinforcements arrive so that the challenge becomes easier.
Time management is of the utmost importance here, as you’ll have around 5 minutes to clear the base.
