This guide explains how to fish in Ghost Of Yōtei to unlock the Spear Fishing Trophy. Fishing in the game requires you to use the Yari, a spear-type weapon obtained by completing a side quest. During that quest, you will have to catch several fish.

If you do not manage to collect all five fish at that stage, you can continue fishing afterward to complete the requirement in Ghost of Yōtei.

Unlocking The Yari

Before you can fish, you must first unlock the Yari. This weapon becomes available after completing its designated side quest. Once obtained, you can use it to spear fish in various rivers across the map.

Fishing Spot – Nupur River

One of the fishing areas can be found along the Nupur River, near the Huranui Cliffs in the Tokachi Range. Once you arrive, walk along the riverbank until you notice fish moving in the water. When fish appear, take out your Yari and wait for them to swim close.

As they pass through, use the spear to catch them. Continue along the river until you have caught the desired number of fish in Ghost of Yōtei.

Fishing Spot – Oyobe River

Another fishing location is the Oyobe River, located beside Matsumae Castle, just to the right of it. This river flows near the Oshima Coast. Upon arrival, move up and down the river and look for fish leaping from the water. When you see one, equip your Yari and strike as the fish approaches to catch it.

Fishing Spot – Teshio River

The final known fishing area is at Teshio Ridge, within the Teshio River. Follow the river downstream until you reach the area near the Two Brothers Campsite. At this point, you will find fish swimming or jumping out of the water.

Position yourself close to the edge and use your Yari to spear the fish as they appear. Repeating this process will allow you to gather enough catches to unlock the Spear Fishing Trophy in Ghost of Yōtei.
