In Ghost of Yōtei, you can access a closed building hidden within the Sarobetsu Forest by following a specific path and completing a short sequence involving a Fox Statue.

Reaching the Sarobetsu Forest Location

Begin your journey at Teshio Ridge. From there, make your way toward the Teshio Coast, located near the Sarobetsu Forest. Once you arrive at this area, you will encounter a group of enemies near a campfire. Engage and defeat them before continuing. The campfire serves as a spot to prevent freezing during this section in Ghost of Yōtei.

Discovering the Hidden Trap

After clearing the area, move toward the side marked with the Forward symbol. Proceed across the flat snow-covered ground in front of you. As you continue, you will trigger a hidden trap and fall inside. Once inside, approach the Fox Statue and press R2 to pull the chain connected to it.

Unlocking the Closed Building

After pulling the chain, climb out of the trap and head back to the front entrance of the closed building. You will find another Fox Statue near the entrance. Pick it up and place it on the opposite side as instructed.

Once this action is complete, the closed building will unlock. You can now enter the structure to gather available resources and collect the Altar of Reflection located inside in Ghost of Yōtei.
